GETTING TO TROUT CAMP
Getting to Trout Camp is no easy task, and that’s what makes it so special. We are located 14 miles past the end of the road. Upon arrival, we will be waiting at the dock ready to boat you into camp. This is how you get there:
DRIVE:
Driving from the US to Trout Camp will generally take upwards of 20 hours. Most people will split the drive into 2 days. The most common cities to stay along the way are Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and LaRonge. All of these cities are located in Saskatchewan.
It is important to consider that the further north you travel, the less amenities you will have, and prices will go up. Set your GPS to Southend, SK. We share a parking lot with Nordic Lodge. Follow the signs to Nordic Lodge. If you find yourself crossing the bridge into the actual town of Southend, SK you have gone too far. Give the lodge a call when departing LaRonge, SK and be sure to fill up on gas while you are there.
FLY / DRIVE:
The airport that you will be flying into is Saskatoon International (YXE) Airport. This is the closest airport where you will be able to rent a vehicle. It is important to rent an SUV or Truck in order to drive the last stretch of road from LaRonge to Southend, SK. The only USA direct flight is out of Minneapolis, MN. You can either stay the evening in Saskatoon or, hit the road and make it to the lake after sundown. Please coordinate with the lodge your travel plans.
Once you hit the road, you will drive north through Prince Albert and LaRonge. Please reference the “DRIVE” travel info for more details on getting to camp.
FLY:
You can fly all the way to the lodge in a float plane. First, you will fly into Saskatoon, SK. You will need to book a flight on Transwest Airlines from Saskatoon (YXE) to LaRonge, SK. Upon arrival to LaRonge, SK, Transwest will provide a shuttle to the Water Base in LaRonge, where you will hop on a float plane to camp.
You can book your float plane through the lodge and can contact us for pricing / scheduling. Transwest have multiple sizes of floatplane and can accommodate 2 – 10 guests depending on luggage and weight requirements. Hop on the plane and we will see you at camp.
Please call the lodge (307) 660-0511 for any questions about travel arrangements.
